Tragic Loss of Teacher
August 28, 2021
Columbus ISD was saddened to learn of the passing of Columbus Elementary School Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Kristie Geisler from COVID-19 complications last night. Mrs. Geisler has been a teacher in Columbus ISD for 22 years and was a once in a lifetime truly amazing teacher. She always guided students through the most difficult times with grace and empathy. Her constant upbeat attitude and constant smile were her trademarks. Mrs. Geisler’s true calling in life was teaching Kindergarten students, she approached her vocation with love, passion and caring. Although Mrs. Geisler will be truly missed, her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and molded. We will miss her.
Mrs. Geisler was not able to start this school year with her students because of illness, but the warmth of her classroom environment welcomed her kindergarteners. As always, Columbus ISD is committed to the safety of students and staff and will continue to provide a safe, sanitized environment for all students and staff.
Counselors will be available Monday morning at Columbus Elementary School for all students and staff.
